Trump’s behavior

These tweets by Maggie Haberman of the New York Times discuss Trump’s behavior.  I think he’s getting worse because he realizes there are no constraints.  His base loves him and Republicans will do nothing because they are afraid of their voters.  Democrats have no power.  Neither does the media – they point out the lies, etc. but have no way to change his terrible behavior.

A Republican former attorney general defends the Mueller investigation

In this column, Dick Thornburgh says: “I urge all members of Congress to become more vocal in their defense of the rule of law. Elected officials must stress unambiguously their support of the role of the special counsel and guard his right to pursue this investigation in a fair and impartial manner. Through whatever means members of Congress deem appropriate, they must defend the rule of law and the integrity of the special counsel’s mission.”

Democrats all agree but many Republicans support Trump’s claim that it is a witch hunt.

Bolton’s top aide doesn’t believe in Russia election meddling

Bolton’s new top aide “…said last year that U.S. intelligence reports on Russia’s election meddling were “rigged.”” according to this article.

The article states he “…even said that President Trump should “pardon everyone” under investigation in the Russia matter.”

Where does the Trump administration find these people?

Sad!

What does Russia have on Trump?

There is no rational way to explain Trump’s suggestion that Russia should be readmitted to the G7 unless Russia has something on him.   Russia was expelled because of their attack on the Ukraine.  Since then, there was their meddling in the US election and the poisoning in the UK.  There is no way they should be allowed back.

Trump has alienated our allies and put tariffs on him.  He has taken the US out of the Iran accord but has nothing to replace it.  He made the US the only country that is not in the Paris climate agreement.  He withdrew from the TPP but has nothing instead.  Asian countries will trade without us.  Do you really think he can make deals?  He has multiple bankruptcies, stiffed contractors, and pulled the Trump University scam.  I don’t see how he is capable of making good deals that will help the US.  He’s just a bully and liar.

He attacks our allies but sucks up to North Korea.

Putin must be thrilled by Trump’s disgraceful behavior.

Sad!

Update:

My 17th Pruitt roundup (new stuff just since 6/5)

It’s been a busy week in Pruitt world.  I don’t ever remember a cabinet member who has done so many shady (and possibly illegal) things.

This week, we had the attempt to get a Chick-Fil-A franchise, eating lunch too often in the White House mess and using his staff to try to find lotion, snacks, and a used mattress from the Trump hotel.  Two of his top aides are leaving.

Democrats want him to be investigated for potential criminal conduct.

Even some Republicans are unhappy with his behavior but aren’t pushing for his resignation.

This article ranks all of his abuses of power.  Here’s another guide:

Pruitt had aides fetch protein bars and yogurt

Pruitt used his security guards to pick up dry cleaning and take him to search for a specific moisturizing lotion.

A major Trump donor helped Pruitt pick EPA science advisors

Majority of Americans do not think NFL players kneeling is unpatriotic

A new poll shows that the majority of Americans do not think kneeling during the anthem is inherently unpatriotic.

The poll shows that “Republican voters say 70 – 23 percent that these NFL players are unpatriotic.”

Those are the only voters Trump cares about.  He has no interest in being president of the entire country.   He has lied about the reason for the protest to rile up his base.

Sad!
