A majority of Canadians now have an unfavorable view of the US

from the article:

“As of last year, only 44 per cent of Canadians said they hold a positive view of their neighbouring country, the lowest ranking ever.

It is not a subtle drift – Canadians were overwhelmingly positive about the United States as recently as 2016, until Donald Trump’s inauguration put a majority into the anti-American column. “

Republican tax scam

The Republican tax cuts that primarily benefit rich people and corporations are unpopular.   This NBC-Wall Street Journal poll shows that 27% think it’s a good idea while 36% think it’s a bad idea.

“Moreover, a majority gives thumbs-down on the plan when asked to consider its potential effects. Just 39 percent foresee a positive impact from a stronger economy, more jobs and more money in their pockets; 53 percent foresee a negative impact from higher deficits and disproportionate benefits for the wealthy and big corporations.”

Great New York Times editorial

The New York Times warns it will be up to Congress to take action if Trump tries to harm or shutdown the Mueller investigation.

I don’t have any confidence in congressional Republicans.  They won’t protect the Special Counsel and won’t do anything if Mueller or Rosenstein are fired.

As the Washington Post argues, Fox News will protect Trump.  The column notes that “In a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll, three of four Republicans said they believed the Justice Department and the FBI are actively working to undermine Trump.”
